Structure of the Earth Facts

Structure of the Earth Facts
We are learning about the structure of the Earth.
I learnt that the Earth is made up of 4 layers. They are:

Facts about each layer:
Crust - The crust it the top of the mantle the Outer core and the inner core and we are
standing on the crust.

Mantle - The Mantle is boiling hot and the rocks are melted so it is soft and squishy.

Outer Core - The Outer core is 4000-6000'C hot, even hotter than the sun.

Inner Core - The inner core is the hottest place by the outer core. It is solid because of the
pressure from the outer layers around it.

Our group -
First we created a 3D image of the earth using …..
We then cut the shape in half to show the different layers. After waiting for it to dry,
we identified each layer by painting them in different colours.
Below are some pictures of our work.`

Earthworms

These are my sentences about earthworms- starting with a simple sentence and expanding to a complex sentence.
We learnt about worms and how they survive in the wild.
I like worms because they're hard to find and they are slimy to touch.

My progress in explanation writing.

Here are the two pieces of writing

I did this year for Explanation Writing.

in Term 1 we had to explain what a friend is and I tried to write why a cat and a dog would not be friends. I tried to write a sentence and I started right, with a capital letter, but I didn't finish the sentence and stopped writing after only three words. I spelled them all correctly. I scored at the beginning of Level 1.
This is what I wrote:
Dog and cat

Then in Term 4, we had to write to explain how to fix an environmental problem. This time I wrote two sentences, I used a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end of both
my sentences, and I used a comma in the right place. I wrote 20 words but 4 of them were not spelled correctly. I scored at the top of Level 1.
This is what I wrote:

Christmas in New Zealand and Sweden

We have been learning about  the different ways people celebrate Christmas around the world. We decided to make a Venn diagram to show things that are the same and different in New Zealand and Sweden. When this are the same, you can compare them. When things are different, you contrast them. I hope you like my diagram.
